Number of civil aircraft departures in Argentina in 2021 amounted to 54 218, which is 97.54% more than in 2020, when it was  27 447. This is the first year of growth after a decline. According to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) statistics, since 1970, this indicator has decreased in 1.32 times. The lowest number of air transport departures was recorded in 2020, with a value of 27 447. The maximum in Argentina was in 1999, when it reached 183 600 departures.
The air transport data represent the total (international and domestic) scheduled traffic carried by the air carriers registered in a country. For statistical uses, departures are equal to the number of landings made or flight stages flown. A flight stage is the operation of an aircraft from take-off to its next landing. A flight stage is classified as either international or domestic. International flight stage is one or both terminals in the territory of a State, other than the State in which the air carrier has its principal place of business. The air transport data represent the total (international and domestic) scheduled traffic carried by the air carriers registered in a country.
