Passenger transportation by air | Belgium – yearly data, chart and table

Number of passengers carried by air transport in Belgium in 2021 amounted to 5 404 284, which is 53.49% more than in 2020, when it was  3 520 850 passengers. This is the first year of growth after a decline. According to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) statistics, since 1970, the volume of air transport passengers has increased in 3.96 times. The lowest number was recorded in 1970, with a value of 1 366 200 passengers. The maximum passengers by air transport in Belgium was in 2019, when it reached 14 279 187 passengers. Air passengers carried include both domestic and international aircraft passengers of air carriers registered in the country.
