Crude steel production of Bangladesh in 2024 amounted to 4 500 000 tons, which is 18.18% less than in 2023, when it was 5 500 000 tons. This is the first year of decline after a period of growth. According to the World Steel Association data, since 1974, the volume of steel production has increased in 55.56 times. The minimum production of crude steel was recorded in 1994, with a value of 6 054 tons. The maximum in Bangladesh was in 2023, when it reached 5 500 000 tons.
