The total reserves of Bangladesh in 2024 amounted to 21 395 million USD, which is 2.13% less than in 2023, when it was  21 860 million USD. It has been falling in this country for already 3 years in a row. Over the entire data period of International Monetary Fund (IMF), since 1972, this indicator has increased in 79.10 times. The lowest reserves was recorded in 1974, when it was 138 million USD. The maximum value of Bangladesh was in 2021, when total reserves including gold reached 46 166 million USD.

Total reserves comprise holdings of monetary gold, special drawing rights, reserves of IMF members held by the IMF, and holdings of foreign exchange under the control of monetary authorities. The gold component of these reserves is valued at year-end (December 31) London prices.
