Passenger transportation by air | Bulgaria – yearly data, chart and table

Number of passengers carried by air transport in Bulgaria in 2021 amounted to 41 126, which is 90.72% less than in 2020, when it was  443 067 passengers. It has been falling in this country for already 4 years in a row. According to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) statistics, since 1970, the volume of air transport passengers has decreased in 24.05 times. The lowest number was recorded in 2021, with a value of 41 126 passengers. The maximum passengers by air transport in Bulgaria was in 1988, when it reached 2 163 600 passengers. Air passengers carried include both domestic and international aircraft passengers of air carriers registered in the country.
