Overview
Ships recycling by Brazil in 2024 amounted to 0 gross tonnage, which is на 273 307gross tonnage less than in 2023, when it was 273 307 tons. This is the first year of decline after a period of growth. According to the data of Division on Technology and Logistics of UNCTAD and Clarkson Research Services, since 2015, this indicator has not changed. The lowest gross tonnage of merchant fleet recycling was recorded in 2024, with a value of 0. The maximum of Brazil was in 2023, when it reached 273 307 gross tonnage of ships recycling. The figures cover seagoing propelled merchant ships of 100 gross tons and above, excluding inland waterway vessels, fishing vessels, military vessels, yachts, and offshore fixed and mobile platforms and barges (with the exception of FPSOs and drillships).

The figures cover seagoing propelled merchant ships of 100 gross tons (GT) and above, excluding inland waterway vessels, fishing vessels, military vessels, yachts, and offshore fixed and mobile platforms and barges (with the exception of FPSOs and drillships).
The value 0 is reported for countries without ship recycling observed for a given year. This is in order to distinguish countries where ship recycling is assessed to be zero for some years, from countries without ship recycling at any point of the time series.
