The proved oil reserves of Brazil in 2021 reached 12 715 million barrels, which is 5.36% less than in 2020, when it was  13 435 MMbbl. This is the first year of decline after a period of growth. According to the Energy Information Administration (EIA) data and BP Statistical Review of World Energy, since 1980, the  proved reserves of oil has increased in 10.42 times. The minimum of Brazil was recorded in 1980, with a value of 1 220 million barrels. The maximum proved oil reserves was  in 2016, when it reached 16 184 MMbbl.
