Overview
The nuclear energy consumption in Brazil in 2024 reached 0.1721 EJ, which is 8.78% more than in 2023, when consumption volume was 0.1582 EJ. This is the first year of growth after a decline. According to the Statistical Review of World Energy, since 1984, the consumption volume of nuclear primary energy has increased in 9.60 times. The lowest level of consumption in Brazil was recorded in 1994, with a value of 0.0006 EJ. The maximum energy consumption from nuclear power plants was in 2019, when it reached 0.1760 EJ. The Statistical Review of World Energy is published annually in the last decade of June by the Energy Institute (EI). From 1952 to 2022, this dataset on global energy production, consumption, and emissions was published by BP.
