Air transport registered carrier departures | Botswana – yearly data, chart and table

Number of civil aircraft departures in Botswana in 2021 amounted to 2 593, which is 60.31% less than in 2019, when it was  6 533. It has been falling in this country for already 4 years in a row. According to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) statistics, since 1979, this indicator has increased in 1.62 times. The lowest number of air transport departures was recorded in 1979, with a value of 1 600. The maximum in Botswana was in 2013, when it reached 9 396 departures.

For statistical uses, departures are equal to the number of landings made or flight stages flown. A flight stage is the operation of an aircraft from take-off to its next landing. A flight stage is classified as either international or domestic.
