Number of civil aircraft departures in Central African Rep. in 2001 amounted to 716, which is 52.83% less than in 2000, when it was  1 518. This is the first year of decline after a period of growth. According to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) statistics, since 1970, this indicator has decreased in 5.03 times. The lowest number of air transport departures was recorded in 2001, with a value of 716. The maximum in Central African Rep. was in 1991, when it reached 4 500 departures.
The air transport data represent the total (international and domestic) scheduled traffic carried by the air carriers registered in a country. For statistical uses, departures are equal to the number of landings made or flight stages flown. A flight stage is the operation of an aircraft from take-off to its next landing. A flight stage is classified as either international or domestic. International flight stage is one or both terminals in the territory of a State, other than the State in which the air carrier has its principal place of business. The air transport data represent the total (international and domestic) scheduled traffic carried by the air carriers registered in a country.
