The proved natural gas reserves of Canada in 2021 reached 2 067 billion m³, which is 2.43% more than in 2020, when it was  2 018 billion cubic metres. This is the first year of growth after a decline. According to the Energy Information Administration (EIA) data and BP Statistical Review of World Energy, since 1980, the  proved reserves of natural gas has decreased in 1.17 times. The minimum of Canada was recorded in 2006, with a value of 1 602 billion cubic metres. The maximum proved gas reserves was  in 1986, when it reached 2 823 billion m³.
