Prevalence of of obesity among adults | Chile – yearly data, chart and table

Proportion of obese people (BMI of 30 kg/m² or higher) in Chile in 2022 amounted to 38.91% of the adult population (18 years and over). In 2021, the value was  37.93%. It has been growing in this country for already 32 years in a row. Since 1990, for the whole period of WHO statistics, the prevalence of obesity among adults in Chile has increased in 2.90 times. The highest obesity rate in the adult population was in 2022, when it reached 38.91%. The minimum was recorded in 1990, with a value of 13.41% of total adult population of Chile.
