Prevalence of overweight among adults | Chile – yearly data, chart and table

Proportion of overweight people (BMI of 25 kg/m² or higher) in Chile in 2022 amounted to 78.79% of the adult population (18 years and over). In 2021, the value was  77.94%. It has been growing in this country for already 32 years in a row. Since 1990, for the whole period of WHO statistics, the prevalence of overweight among adults in Chile has increased in 1.73 times. The highest number of overweight people was in 2022, when it reached 78.79%. The minimum was recorded in 1990, with a value of 45.67% of total adult population of Chile.
