Employment in agriculture | Cyprus

The employment in agriculture, hunting, forestry and fishing in the economy of Cyprus in 2023 amounted to 2.37 % of total employed. In 2022, the value was  2.37%. It has been falling in this country for already 2 years in a row. Over the entire period of ILOSTAT data since 1991, this indicator has decreased in 5.33 times. The lowest percent of employees in agricultural activities was recorded in 2018, when it was 2.17. The maximum was in 1991, when agri-sector employment share in Cyprus reached 12.63 % of total employment. Employment is defined as persons of working age who were engaged in any activity to produce goods or provide services for pay or profit, whether at work during the reference period or not at work due to temporary absence from a job, or to working-time arrangement.
