Land area under cereal production of Ecuador in 2023 amounted to 684 219 ha, which is 5.32% less than in 2022, when it was  722 700 ha. It has been falling in this country for already 2 years in a row. According to the FAOSTAT data, since 1961, the land used for cereal production has increased in 1.36 times. The minimum cereal cropland area recorded in 1978, with a value of 330 304 ha. The maximum of Ecuador was in 1997, when it reached 1 043 439 ha. Cereals include wheat, rice, maize, barley, oats, rye, millet, sorghum, buckwheat, and mixed grains. Production data on cereals relate to crops harvested for dry grain only.
