Land area under cereal production of Egypt in 2023 amounted to 3 160 027 ha, which is 1.69% more than in 2022, when it was  3 107 546 ha. This is the first year of growth after a decline. According to the FAOSTAT data, since 1961, the land used for cereal production has increased in 1.83 times. The minimum cereal cropland area recorded in 1965, with a value of 1 625 595 ha. The maximum of Egypt was in 2019, when it reached 3 626 297 ha. Cereals include wheat, rice, maize, barley, oats, rye, millet, sorghum, buckwheat, and mixed grains. Production data on cereals relate to crops harvested for dry grain only.
