Overview
The hydropower energy consumption in Finland in 2024 reached 0.0515 EJ, which is 5.81% less than in 2023, when consumption volume was 0.0547 EJ. This is the first year of decline after a period of growth. According to the Statistical Review of World Energy, since 1965, the consumption volume of hydropower primary energy has increased in 1.53 times. The lowest level of consumption in Finland was recorded in 1969, with a value of 0.0315 EJ. The maximum energy consumption from hydropower was in 2008, when it reached 0.0616 EJ. The Statistical Review of World Energy is published annually in the last decade of June by the Energy Institute (EI). From 1952 to 2022, this dataset on global energy production, consumption, and emissions was published by BP.
