The total reserves of Hungary in 2024 amounted to 46 422 million USD, which is 1.54% more than in 2023, when it was 45 719 million USD. It has been growing in this country for already 2 years in a row. Over the entire data period of International Monetary Fund (IMF), since 1983, this indicator has increased in 25.57 times. The lowest reserves was recorded in 1990, when it was 1 185 million USD. The maximum value of Hungary was in 2011, when total reserves including gold reached 48 832 million USD.

Total reserves comprise holdings of monetary gold, special drawing rights, reserves of IMF members held by the IMF, and holdings of foreign exchange under the control of monetary authorities. The gold component of these reserves is valued at year-end (December 31) London prices.
