Overview
The Anti Money Laundering Index of Indonesia in 2024 was 5.33 points. In 2023, the index value was 5.01. This is the first year of growth after a decline. 0 = low risk, 10 = high risk of money laundering and terrorist financing. Since 2012, over the entire period of Basel Institute data, this indicator has decreased in 1.20 times. The lowest level of money laundering in Indonesia was recorded in 2020, with a value of 4.62. The highest AML Index was observed in 2012, when it reached 6.38. The Basel AML Index uses a composite methodology, with 17 indicators in five domains in line with key factors considered to contribute to a high risk of money laundering and related financial crimes. The indicators and their weighting are reviewed annually by an independent expert group.

The Basel AML Index measures the risk of money laundering and terrorist financing (ML / TF) in jurisdictions around the world. It is based on a composite methodology, with 18 indicators categorised into five domains in line with the five key factors considered to contribute to a high risk of ML/TF.
