The proved natural gas reserves of India in 2021 reached 1 381 billion m³, which is 3.07% more than in 2020, when it was  1 340 billion cubic metres. This is the first year of growth after a decline. According to the Energy Information Administration (EIA) data and BP Statistical Review of World Energy, since 1980, the  proved reserves of natural gas has increased in 5.24 times. The minimum of India was recorded in 1980, with a value of 263 billion cubic metres. The maximum proved gas reserves was  in 2015, when it reached 1 427 billion m³.
