Number of outbound tourism departures | India

The outbound tourism departures from India in 2024 amounted to 30 885 000, which is 10.79% more than in 2023, when it was  27 878 000 departures. It has been growing in this country for already 4 years in a row. Over the entire period of data from the UNWTO since 1995, this indicator has increased in 10.11 times. The lowest annual international tourist flow was recorded in 1995, when it was 3 056 000 departures. The highest value was in 2024, when the outbound tourism departures from India reached 30 885 000.
These values come from a new data collection process using a single questionnaire. Since the new processing system is still being phased in, some data points may not completely reflect the final standards yet.
