Passenger transportation by air | Ireland – yearly data, chart and table

Number of passengers carried by air transport in Ireland in 2021 amounted to 74 065 210, which is 35.69% more than in 2020, when it was  54 582 262 passengers. This is the first year of growth after a decline. According to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) statistics, since 1970, the volume of air transport passengers has increased in 50.17 times. The lowest number was recorded in 1972, with a value of 1 408 800 passengers. The maximum passengers by air transport in Ireland was in 2019, when it reached 170 161 848 passengers. Air passengers carried include both domestic and international aircraft passengers of air carriers registered in the country.
