Overview
The crude oil production in Italy in 2024 reached 88 286 barrels per day, which is 20.72% less than in 2023, when production volume was 111 359 b/d. This is the first year of decline after a period of growth. According to the Energy Information Administration (EIA), since 1965, the annual production volume of oil (crude oil, NGPL, and other liquids) has increased in 1.85 times. The minimum of Italy was recorded in 1973, with a value of 23 356 barrels daily. The maximum crude oil poduction was in 2015, when it reached 145 134 b/d.

Petroleum supply includes the production of crude oil (including lease condensate), natural gas plant liquids, and other liquids, and it also includes refinery processing gain for volume (TBPD) only.
Other Liquids includes biodiesel, ethanol, liquids produced from coal, gas, and oil shale, Orimulsion, blending components, and other hydrocarbons.
