Overview
The Digital Competitiveness Index of Jamaica in 2019 was 58.30 points. In 2018, the index value was 57.90. This is the first year of growth after a decline. 100 points indicate the maximum level of digital competitiveness. Since 2018, over the entire period of data, this indicator has increased in 1.01 times. The lowest level of competitiveness in Jamaica was recorded in 2018, with a value of 57.90. The highest ranking was observed in 2019, when it reached 58.30. Nine sub-factors comprise 59 criteria, although each sub-factor does not necessarily have the same number of criteria (for example, it takes more criteria to assess Training and Education than to evaluate IT integration). Each sub-factor, independent of the number of criteria it contains, has the same weight in the overall consolidation of results, that is approximately 11.1% (100 ÷ 9 ~ 11.1).

The methodology of the WDC ranking defi nes digital competitiveness into three main factors:
- Knowledge
- Technology
- Future readiness
In turn, each of these factors is divided into 3 sub-factors which highlight every facet of the areas analyzed. Altogether, the WDC features nine such sub-factors. These nine sub-factors comprise 54 criteria, although each sub-factor does not necessarily have the same number of criteria (for example, it takes more criteria to assess Training and Education than to evaluate IT integration).
