Overview
The coal energy consumption in Mexico in 2024 reached 0.2824 EJ, which is 1.46% more than in 2023, when consumption volume was 0.2783 EJ. It has been growing in this country for already 3 years in a row. According to the Statistical Review of World Energy, since 1965, the consumption volume of coal primary energy has increased in 9.78 times. The lowest level of consumption in Mexico was recorded in 1965, with a value of 0.0289 EJ. The maximum energy consumption from coal was in 2017, when it reached 0.6363 EJ. The Statistical Review of World Energy is published annually in the last decade of June by the Energy Institute (EI). From 1952 to 2022, this dataset on global energy production, consumption, and emissions was published by BP.
