Overview
The proved natural gas reserves of Malaysia in 2021 reached 1 189 billion m³, which is 0.563% more than in 2020, when it was 1 183 billion cubic metres. This is the first year of growth after a decline. According to the Energy Information Administration (EIA) data and BP Statistical Review of World Energy, since 1980, the proved reserves of natural gas has increased in 2.47 times. The minimum of Malaysia was recorded in 1981, with a value of 425 billion cubic metres. The maximum proved gas reserves was in 2014, when it reached 2 350 billion m³.
