Overview
Arable land area of Pakistan in 2023 amounted to 30 260 000 ha, which is 0.099% more than in 2022, when it was 30 230 000 ha. This is the first year of growth after a decline. According to the FAOSTAT data, since 1961, the area of arable land has decreased in 1.01 times. The minimum arable land area recorded in 2010, with a value of 29 390 000 ha. The maximum of Pakistan was in 1982, when it reached 33 140 000 ha. Arable land includes land defined by the FAO as land under temporary crops (double-cropped areas are counted once), temporary meadows for mowing or for pasture, land under market or kitchen gardens, and land temporarily fallow.
