The inbound tourism arrivals to Pakistan in 2012 amounted to 966 000, which is 16.8% less than in 2011, when it was 1 161 000 arrivals. This is the first year of decline after a period of growth. Over the entire period of data from the UNWTO since 1995, this indicator has increased in 2.56 times. The lowest annual international tourist flow was recorded in 1996, when it was 369 000 arrivals. The highest value was in 2011, when the inbound tourism arrivals to Pakistan reached 1 161 000.
These values come from a new data collection process using a single questionnaire. Since the new processing system is still being phased in, some data points may not completely reflect the final standards yet.
