The outbound tourism departures from Peru in 2022 amounted to 2 118 500, which is 243.35% more than in 2021, when it was 617 000 departures. This is the first year of growth after a decline. Over the entire period of data from the UNWTO since 1995, this indicator has increased in 4.17 times. The lowest annual international tourist flow was recorded in 1995, when it was 508 000 departures. The highest value was in 2019, when the outbound tourism departures from Peru reached 3 275 000.
These values come from a new data collection process using a single questionnaire. Since the new processing system is still being phased in, some data points may not completely reflect the final standards yet.
