Employment in industry | Philippines

The employment in industry share of the economy of Philippines in 2023 amounted to 18.47 % of total employed. In 2022, the value was  18.44%. This is the first year of growth after a decline. Over the entire period of ILOSTAT data since 1991, this indicator has increased in 1.15 times. The lowest percent of employees in industry was recorded in 2012, when it was 15.27. The maximum was in 2019, when industry employment share in Philippines reached 19.12 % of total employment. Employment is defined as persons of working age who were engaged in any activity to produce goods or provide services for pay or profit, whether at work during the reference period or not at work due to temporary absence from a job, or to working-time arrangement.
