The international outbound tourism expenditure of Papua New Guinea in 2021 amounted to 112.00 million USD, which is 23.08% more than in 2020, when it was  91.00 million USD. This is the first year of growth after a decline. Over the entire period of data from the UNWTO since 2003, this indicator has increased in 2.15 times. The lowest annual international outbound tourism expenditure recorded in 2003, when it was 52.00 million USD. The maximum value was in 2013, when the expenditure of outbound tourists from Papua New Guinea reached 216.00 million USD.
These values come from a new data collection process using a single questionnaire. Since the new processing system is still being phased in, some data points may not completely reflect the final standards yet.
