Bauxite mining | Romania

The bauxite production of Romania in 1998 amounted to 161 865 tons, which is 27% more than in 1997, when it was  127 450 tons. This is the first year of growth after a decline. According to the British Geological Survey statistics, since 1970, the annual volume of bauxite production has decreased in 4.79 times. The minimum was recorded in 1997, with a value of 127 450 tons. The maximum mining volume of bauxite in Romania was in 1973, when it reached 900 000 tons.
