Overview

The gas energy consumption in Russian Federation in 2024 reached 17.1728 EJ, which is 5.22% more than in 2023, when consumption volume was 16.3214 EJ. It has been growing in this country for already 4 years in a row. According to the Statistical Review of World Energy, since 1985, the consumption volume of gas primary energy has increased in 1.34 times. The lowest level of consumption in Russian Federation was recorded in 1997, with a value of 12.4347 EJ. The maximum energy consumption from gas was in 2024, when it reached 17.1728 EJ. The Statistical Review of World Energy is published annually in the last decade of June by the Energy Institute (EI). From 1952 to 2022, this dataset on global energy production, consumption, and emissions was published by BP.
