The Gender Gap Index of Serbia in 2025 was 0.774 points. In 2024, the index value was  0.779. This is the first year of decline after a period of growth. Index measures scores on a 0-1 scale. Since 2012, over the entire period of data, this indicator has increased in 1.10 times. The lowest level of gender gap in Serbia was recorded in 2012, with a value of 0.704. The highest index was observed in 2022, when it reached 0.780. The Global Gender Gap Index annually benchmarks the current state and evolution of gender parity across four key dimensions (subindexes): Economic  Participation and Opportunity, Educational Attainment,  Health and Survival, and Political Empowerment.

The Global Gender Gap Index annually benchmarks the current state and evolution of gender parity across four key dimensions (Economic Participation and Opportunity, Educational Attainment, Health and Survival, and Political Empowerment). It is the longest-standing index tracking the progress of numerous countries’ efforts towards closing these gaps over time since its inception in 2006.
