Overview
Proportion of women in ministerial level positions of South Sudan in 2024 amounted to 23.53 % of the total. In 2023, the value was 25.81%. This is the first year of decline after a period of growth. Over the entire period of Inter-Parliamentary Union statistics since 2012, this indicator has increased in 1.41 times. The lowest share of woman in ministerial positions was recorded in 2019, when it was 15.63. The maximum was in 2020, when number of female ministers in South Sudan reached 33.33 %.

Women in ministerial level positions is the proportion of women in ministerial or equivalent positions (including deputy prime ministers) in the government. Prime Ministers/Heads of Government are included when they hold ministerial portfolios. Vice-Presidents and heads of governmental or public agencies are excluded.
