Overview
Total meat production of Slovenia in 2023 amounted to 133 639 tonnes, which is 3.09% less than in 2022, when it was 137 900 tonnes. It has been falling in this country for already 2 years in a row. According to the FAOSTAT data, since 1992, the volume of annual meat production has decreased in 1.04 times. The minimum production of all types of meat was recorded in 2013, with a value of 120 534 tonnes. The maximum of Slovenia was in 1995, when it reached 175 060 metric tons of meat.

About indicator
Total meat production includes meat from animals slaughtered in countries, irrespective of their origin and comprises horse meat, poultry meat and meat from all other domestic or wild animals such as camels, rabbits, reindeer and game animals. All data shown relate to total meat production, that is, from both commercial and farm slaughter.
Data for countries reporting in other than ready-to-cook weight have been converted into the ready-to-cook equivalent. Data for the United States — the largest poultry-meat producer — are given on a ready-to-cook basis and include giblets; however, most countries reporting in terms of readyto-cook weight do not specify whether giblets are included or excluded.
