Employment in services | Trinidad & Tobago

The employment in services sector of the economy of Trinidad & Tobago in 2023 amounted to 70.14 % of total employed. In 2022, the value was  70.31%. This is the first year of decline after a period of growth. Over the entire period of ILOSTAT data since 1991, this indicator has increased in 1.18 times. The lowest percent of employees in services activities was recorded in 1991, when it was 59.47. The maximum was in 2020, when employment in services share in Trinidad & Tobago reached 70.96 % of total employment. Employment is defined as persons of working age who were engaged in any activity to produce goods or provide services for pay or profit, whether at work during the reference period or not at work due to temporary absence from a job, or to working-time arrangement.
