The proved oil reserves of United States in 2021 reached 38 212 million barrels, which is 18.99% less than in 2020, when it was  47 172 MMbbl. This is the first year of decline after a period of growth. According to the Energy Information Administration (EIA) data and BP Statistical Review of World Energy, since 1980, the  proved reserves of oil has increased in 1.22 times. The minimum of United States was recorded in 2009, with a value of 20 554 million barrels. The maximum proved oil reserves was  in 2020, when it reached 47 172 MMbbl.
