Overview
The employment in services sector of the economy of Vietnam in 2023 amounted to 35.79 % of total employed. In 2022, the value was 35.78%. This is the first year of growth after a decline. Over the entire period of ILOSTAT data since 1991, this indicator has increased in 2.18 times. The lowest percent of employees in services activities was recorded in 1991, when it was 16.45. The maximum was in 2021, when employment in services share in Vietnam reached 37.82 % of total employment. Employment is defined as persons of working age who were engaged in any activity to produce goods or provide services for pay or profit, whether at work during the reference period or not at work due to temporary absence from a job, or to working-time arrangement.
