Number of confirmed malaria cases in Vietnam in 2023 amounted to 453, which is 0.44% less than in 2022, when it was  455 cases. It has been falling in this country for already 5 years in a row. Since 2000, for the whole period of WHO statistics, the annual malaria case count in Vietnam has decreased in 164.05 times. The highest number of new malaria diagnoses was in 2000, when it reached 74 316. The minimum of  Vietnam was recorded in 2023, with a value of 453 cases.

Confirmed cases used were reported through the laboratory, unless indicated by the country that confirmed cases should be used from the outpatient register owing to incomplete or inaccurate laboratory data. Confirmed cases were corrected for double counting of microscopy and RDT where the exact number of double counted cases was known. Confirmed cases include indigenous, imported, introduced, relapsing and recrudescent cases, as well as all species, including non-human malaria P. knowlesi.
