Overview
Proportion of women in ministerial level positions of Zambia in 2024 amounted to 16.00 % of the total. In 2023, the value was 12.50%. This is the first year of growth after a decline. Over the entire period of Inter-Parliamentary Union statistics since 2005, this indicator has decreased in 1.56 times. The lowest share of woman in ministerial positions was recorded in 2012, when it was 11.80. The maximum was in 2016, when number of female ministers in Zambia reached 33.30 %.

About indicator
Women in ministerial level positions is the proportion of women in ministerial or equivalent positions (including deputy prime ministers) in the government. Prime Ministers/Heads of Government are included when they hold ministerial portfolios. Vice-Presidents and heads of governmental or public agencies are excluded.
